Thailand's Deputy Finance Minister Julapan held an investment discussion with Wynn Resorts, a globally renowned integrated resort operator. The two parties had an in-depth exchange on the prospects of developing the integrated entertainment industry in Thailand.
Wynn Resorts highly praised Thailand's unique tourism resources, believing that the country's rich natural landscapes, long history and culture, and mature tourism infrastructure create an attractive investment environment, particularly suitable for developing large-scale integrated resort projects. The company expressed a strong desire to invest in and build integrated entertainment venues in Thailand and looks forward to comprehensive cooperation with the Thai government.
Chris Gordon, the executive in charge of development at Wynn Resorts, emphasized during the talks that the group always adheres to a responsible management philosophy in its global operations. It strictly implements anti-money laundering controls through advanced technological means and has established a comprehensive gambling addiction prevention mechanism.
He expressed his willingness to introduce these leading international risk control experiences to the Thai market to help establish a standardized industry management system. Both parties agreed that the draft "Integrated Entertainment Venue Management Act" under consideration in Thailand reflects a scientific legislative approach. This bill not only sets strict anti-money laundering legal provisions but also includes systematic solutions to social issues such as gambling addiction prevention, providing institutional guarantees for the healthy development of the industry.
It is noteworthy that the planned integrated entertainment venues in Thailand will not only include gambling elements but will also integrate performances, sports events, cultural exhibitions, and other diversified business forms. Wynn Resorts showed great interest in this and hoped to discuss cooperation models for various derivative businesses in detail with the Thai side.
Deputy Minister Julapan responded that the Thai government highly values the investment intentions of top international enterprises like Wynn Resorts, which fully demonstrates foreign investors' confidence in the economic development prospects of Thailand. He emphasized that Thailand is committed to transforming from a single tourist destination to a regional integrated investment hub, driving industrial upgrading through the introduction of high-quality projects.
Julapan further pointed out that the Thai government will prudently advance the legislative process of the "Integrated Entertainment Venue Management Act," ensuring social order stability and protecting the interests of the public while reasonably developing the economic potential of the integrated entertainment industry. The government looks forward to creating new economic growth points through standardized industrial policies, increasing employment opportunities, and establishing a comprehensive social security system to achieve balanced development of economic and social benefits. This meeting laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two parties, and technical discussions on specific investment plans will follow.
