The government of Sihanouk Province in Cambodia recently announced plans to launch the "ISI Economic Zone" construction project in Borei County. The project, funded by the Shengshi Port Economic Zone Co., Ltd., has a total investment of 50 million US dollars, covering an area of 206 hectares, and is expected to create about 7,000 job opportunities.
This special economic zone will focus on attracting manufacturing and supporting industries, aiming to enhance the industrial capacity of West Port and accelerate economic diversification.
The Deputy Governor of Sihanouk Province, Long Dimong, stated that the provincial government attaches great importance to this project and is coordinating various departments to fully support its smooth progress. He pointed out that the ISI Economic Zone will become an important platform for promoting high-quality local economic development and enhancing West Port's attractiveness to domestic and foreign investors.
Long Dimong also emphasized that developers should take social responsibility during the construction process, especially in terms of environmental protection, natural resource utilization, public health, and employee welfare. He called for the introduction of green and renewable energy solutions to promote economic growth while emphasizing ecological protection.
The "ISI Economic Zone" is considered an important part of West Port's industrial upgrading strategy and will help the province achieve breakthroughs in attracting investment, promoting employment, and infrastructure development in the future.
