Darts player Andy Jenkins has been banned from all Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) events for 11 years due to his involvement in manipulating 12 matches and violating betting rules.
The sanction was announced on April 30, 2025, following a hearing by the DRA disciplinary committee, which found Jenkins guilty of match manipulation during the period from February 2022 to July 2023.
The DRA found Jenkins guilty of 24 charges related to match manipulation and sharing information with gamblers.
He also admitted to placing 88 bets on darts matches between March 2022 and May 2023, which directly violated the DRA's rule prohibiting players from betting on any darts events.
Jenkins was fined £17,580.03 ($23,414), which must be paid by December 31, 2026, or another agreed date before November 14, 2034.
His ban is retroactive to November 15, 2023, and will expire at midnight on November 14, 2034.
The 12-month ban for violating betting rules will be served concurrently with the match-fixing ban.
The Gambling Commission's Sports Betting Intelligence Unit (SBIU) supported the investigation by facilitating information exchange.
John Pierce, the commission's enforcement chief, commented on the case, saying: "This case sends a strong and clear message to all athletes—if you manipulate matches, you are likely to be caught and face serious consequences.
"British betting customers should trust that the markets they are participating in are fair and free of corruption.
"Our Sports Betting Intelligence Unit will continue to work closely with partners like the Darts Regulation Authority to identify and prevent match-fixing."
There is no indication that other players involved in the investigated matches were also involved.
This is the latest in a series of integrity cases in the world of darts. In December 2024, darts players Leighton Bennett and Billy Warriner were banned for eight and ten years, respectively, for similar violations.
