According to Thai media reports, high-ranking officers including a Major General and a Brigadier General from the Thai Cyber Crime Division ordered the Deputy Commander and other law enforcement officers to execute a search warrant issued by the Chiang Rai Provincial Court on March 28 (number 123/2568), leading to the arrest of 26-year-old Ms. Wanicha from Chiang Rai.

During the arrest, a computer, an internet router, and two mobile phones were seized at a residence in Village No. 2, San Khi Lek, Wiang Ka Long District, Wiang Pa Pao County, Chiang Rai.

The investigation team discovered an online gambling website named Royalbet789 (part of the Royalbet.com network) offering services related to online gambling such as slot games, fish shooting games, card games, baccarat, dice, pokdeng, dragon tiger, live casinos, lotteries, and sports betting. The house was used as the operation site, prompting the issuance of the search warrant prior to the arrest.

Ms. Wanicha admitted to working as an administrator on the gambling site Royalbet789, with a salary of 17,500 Thai Baht and a tenure of about one month.

It was revealed that the gambling site has 152,413 members and a monthly turnover of 100 million Thai Baht. Consequently, she was charged with "jointly organizing gambling or using tricks to entice, assist in promoting, or directly or indirectly persuading others to gamble on electronic media without authority permission." She was then taken to the Mae Chan Police Station in Chiang Rai for further legal proceedings.
