Olivia Salomón joins the extended cabinet of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Mexico.- Last week at a press conference, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced the appointment of Olivia Salomón Vibaldo as the General Director of National Lottery (Lotenal), thereby leading one of the oldest and most emblematic institutions of the country, which primarily aims to generate resources through the execution of games and lotteries for the benefit of the Mexican people.
Salomón has experience in public service as she held the role of Secretary of Economy of the State of Puebla between 2019 and 2023. Moreover, as explained by Lotenal, the vision of the new General Director aligns with the objective of the Federal Executive Chief in “promoting economic growth with Shared Prosperity”, hence her management as General Director aims to “boost strategic projects, especially in promotion and innovation, for the National Lottery”.
Claudia Sheinbaum stated that “it is time for women”, and in this regard, Olivia Salomón demonstrated as Secretary of Economy of Puebla her support for public policies with a gender perspective, as she promoted programs like “Woman is Power” to encourage female entrepreneurship and education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) for girls and women, aspects that are triggers to promote the search for the elimination of inequality and, above all, to enforce the application of human rights for everyone.
“At the National Lottery, Salomón Vibaldo will be able to combine two of the aspects that have characterized her: her active interest in promoting economic development and her capacity for social response,” assured the institution.
Furthermore, her presence at the head of the National Lottery signifies upholding the principles of the Fourth Transformation, which holds as its maxim that “for the good of all, the poor first”.
