Managers of the 12 casinos in Biloxi and across South Mississippi are accustomed to dealing with tropical weather, but not the inches of snow and ice forecast to fall on Tuesday.
While most casinos will be open, in part since they have hotel guests, some of the casinos will close their restaurants and other amenities.
The list includes Scarlet Pearl Casino, which posted that its casino, hotel and all venues will close by midnight on Monday and remain closed on Tuesday. “Our team will continue to monitor conditions, so stay tuned for updates,” a Facebook post says. CEO LuAnn Pappas says the closing at Scarlet Pearl is due to concerns for the safety of employees and guests, and the venues will reopen by noon Wednesday if road conditions permit.
