Representantes de bancas de apuestas dominicanas estiman que el aumento del impuesto llevaría la ilegalidad al 75 por ciento.
República Dominicana.- Desde la Asociación Nacional de Bancas Deportivas de República Dominicana calificaron como “inviable” el Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo a los juegos de azar, fijado en un 16 por ciento. Los representantes de las bancas de apuestas deportivas estiman que gracias a este nuevo impuesto, se incrementaría la informalidad de 50 a un 75 por ciento.
En ese sentido, Jefrey Espinal, vicepresidente de la Asociación de Bancas Deportivas, rechazó completamente el impuesto propuesto en la iniciativa de Reforma Fiscal del Gobierno.
Según informó el sitio local N, Espinal estima que sería más conveniente, si las autoridades aplican con mayor rigor la Ley 139-11, sobre Reforma Tributaria, y de esta manera cobrar a los evasores de impuestos, regulando todo el sector de juegos de azar. Espinal estima que la informalidad ronda el 50 por ciento y con un mayor control, las autoridades lograrían recaudar más.
“El 16 del Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo al sector de juegos, que no se aplica en ninguna otra parte del mundo, llevaría a la quiebra a nuestro sector”, aseguró Espinal, quien acudió al Congreso Nacional al expresar su rechazo al impuesto del 16 por ciento a los juegos de azar, establecido en la Reforma Fiscal presentada por el gobierno dominicano el pasado 7 de octubre.
El representante de las bancas de apuestas deportivas dominicanas estima que de aplicar ese arbitrio, se producirá una caída en los juegos y por consiguiente, no se lograría el objetivo de recaudar más.

El Gobierno dominicano, a través del ministro de Hacienda, Jochi Vicente, dio a conocer el lunes 7 de octubre los detalles de la reforma o modernización fiscal. Según el funcionario, el objetivo de la reforma es “atender las demandas de la ciudadanía concerniente a los servicios básicos, que además sugiere un aumento al gasto público”.
El Gobierno informó que con la propuesta de reforma fiscal presentada este lunes, tiene el objetivo de incrementar las recaudaciones en RD$122,486.6m, equivalente al 1.5 por ciento del PIB.
La propuesta incluye un nuevo impuesto selectivo sobre el juego de azar, con el objetivo de recaudar RD$1,512m (USD24.7m). Asimismo, el Gobierno plantea que a partir de la reforma, quedaría eliminada la exoneración a la importación de máquinas y artefactos de juegos de azar. Además, la propuesta se establece que se incrementaría de 25 a 27 por ciento la retención máxima sobre premios o ganancias obtenidas en juegos de azar.

A central coffee and tea lounge said to be inspired by the Silk Road will transform into a cocktail and wine lounge during the evenings.
The company said the first phase of the expansion project was slated for completion by the fourth quarter of 2025, with full completion targeted for the first quarter of 2026. “The positive outlook for tourism and gaming in the region are significant indicators to proceed with an expansion plan that will address current market demands and introduce new concepts that will excite our discerning markets and lifestyle seekers,” the company said.
To pay for the development, Hann Philippines has secured a PHP6bn (US$105.6m) loan from Asia United Bank Corporation (AUB) and Union Bank (UB) of the Philippines.

Gross gaming revenue from the Philippine casino sector in the third quarter of the year was PHP94.61bn (US$1.61bn). That’s an increase of 37.5 per cent year-on-year and 6 per cent sequentially from PHP89.23bn (US$1.56bn) in the second quarter of the year.
