Germain Hotels has been chosen by Loto-Québec to manage the new hotel about to be constructed next to Casino de Montreal. Loto-Québec said in a statement that they’re still working with several partners to finalize plans for the hotel before ground is broken.
“Germain Hotels is a local family business that is, like us, passionate about customer service,” said Jean-Francois Bergeron, President and Executive Officer at Loto-Québec, in a statement. “Loto-Québec looks forward to building a premium hotel, an icon for the city, at the heart of beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau. The hotel will make the Casino de Montreal a more complete and appealing entertainment destination.”
Loto-Québec will be the sole owner of the 200-room hotel, with all profits re-invested back into the province.
Germain operates hotels in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, Halifax, and Quebec City, as well as other Canadian cities. The company operates under three banners: Hotel Le Germain, high-end boutique hotels offering luxurious accommodations; Alt Hotels, more affordable destinations focusing more on eco-conscious features; and Escad Hotels, a lifestyle-oriented brand targeting travelers looking for more modern vibrant spaces with a local flair. The company was founded in 1988 by the Germain family.
The company has won awards for its management, service, and sustainability efforts.
“Loto-Québec is known for its entertainment and customer-service know-how,” said Hugo and Marie Pier Germain, Vice-President, Operations and Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, respectively, at Germain Hotels, in a statement. “We couldn’t dream of a better location to offer accommodation options, next to the Casino de Montréal and close to where some of the biggest events in the city are held.”
Loto-Québec added in the statement that they expect to be welcoming the first guests to the hotel in two to three years, with the new hotel joining Hilton Lac-Leamy and Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu in Loto-Québec’s real estate portfolio.
