The four commercial casinos in Kansas collected $33.4 million in revenue in October, the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission has reported, up about 3 percent from the same month last year.

October’s totals bring the fiscal-year-to-date total above $118.7 million, marking a 3 percent increase from the same point last year. Last October, revenue stood at $115.2 million.

Electronic gaming machines continued to dominate, with $29.3 million in revenue, while around $4 million came from table games like blackjack, roulette and craps.

Hollywood Casino & Resort led with $13.6 million in revenue, followed closely by Kansas Star Casino & Resort with almost $13.0 million. Boot Hill Casino & Resort generated $3.6 million in revenue for the month and Kansas Crossing Casino & Resort collected the remaining $3.2 million.

The casinos keep 73 percent of the winnings, equal to around $24.4 million for October 2024. Meanwhile, the state collected about $7.3 million, or 22 percent, and 3 percent, or $1 million, went to local communities. The remaining 2 percent, or $0.7 million, was donated to support problem gambling treatment.

October also was a strong month for sports betting in the state, with the Kansas Lottery reporting a record-breaking $275.9 million handle. However, gross sports betting revenue fell 49 percent year-over-year.
