Two betting companies were reported for fraud and production of false documents.
Paraguay.- The National Gambling Commission (Conajzar), sponsored by the Attorney General's Office, filed a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office against two betting companies, Montego Trading and Amazing, for alleged crimes of fraud, illegal exploitation of games, and production of false documents.
The measure was announced by the president of Conajzar, Carlos Liseras, with the participation of the attorney Marco Aurelio González, who also requested the raid of physical premises and the blocking of online platforms.
The document mentions that the firm Amazing had breached the contractual good faith granted by Conajzar through the concession contract for the exploitation of electronic virtual game machines.
“This harmful and premeditated behavior, lacking legality biases, consisted of the false declaration of an obligation assumed in said contract, specifically in the presentation of guarantees in the form of insurance policies. This allowed the continuation of the contract execution with the aim of continuing to generate economic benefits from the exploitation of gambling, without providing the necessary cautions that grant legal security to the contracting parties in case of non-payment of the fee assumed by the concessionaire,” the text states.

On the other hand, in the complaint against the firm Montego Trading, the State accuses them of clandestinely exploiting sports betting, harming not only the players but also the public treasury.
«Conajzar became aware that the firm Montego Trading, through the website crowncityplay.com.py, continues to illegally and clandestinely exploit the form of gambling known as sports betting. The offer of sports betting made through this website violates the rights, constitutional guarantees, and legal protections of the bettors and the awarded firm, which, given the urgency of the case, makes it imperative to proceed with the blocking of the domains detailed in the report from the National Computing Center», the document states.
