Panama.- The gaming industry continues to rise in Panama. According to information published by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), in real figures, Panamanians allocated about USD2,000m to the purchase of lottery tickets and chances from the National Lottery of Charity (LNB) and gambling during the period from January to July 2024.
The local media El Capital Financiero reported that, according to INEC figures, by the end of July, LNB sales totaled USD487.9m, representing an increase of 6.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023, when they registered an amount of USD457.8m.
Meanwhile, gambling bets from January to July this year reached USD1,478.9m, representing an increase of 14.5 percent compared to USD1,290m recorded in the same period of 2023.

However, when adding both amounts, the resulting figure of money allocated by Panamanians to lottery and gambling, between January and July of this year amounts to USD1,966.8m.
The majority of bets are concentrated on Type A gaming machines with USD1,184.2m, followed by internet betting with USD183.4m, bets on gaming tables with USD77.5m, and bets on sporting events with USD11.9m.
