In the raid, items from the illegal game called "24" were seized.
Colombia.- Coljuegos led an operation against illegal gambling in the city of Pasto, in the department of Nariño, with the support of the National Police Special Operations Group. The result included 15 illegal gambling items seized, six establishments closed, and one person arrested for illegal possession of weapons. It is estimated that, each year, the illegality in games of chance in Nariño exceeds COP6.000m (USD1.4m).
After the operation, Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos, said: "For the first time in many years, Coljuegos is reaching all regions of the country to combat illegality. In our administration, there are no forbidden territories, so we are writing a new story in the fight against illegal betting that takes resources away from the health of Colombians."
Among the items seized by the entity are three electronic slot machines, two internet betting modules, as well as eight casino tables from the game called "24", an activity that has not been regulated by the entity and operates illegally both in Nariño and in the Coffee Axis.
"Each of the '24' game tables moves around COP10m (USD2,400) daily in illegal bets. This is a game that does not provide any guarantees to bettors and, moreover, does not have regulation or authorization by Coljuegos," added the president of the entity.
During the operation, the authorities seized COP21m (USD5,000) in cash found in the sealed establishments. These resources are constituted as a judicial deposit in the name of Coljuegos and can be transferred to the health system.

"These actions are the result of the pact for legality that we signed last July with the Governorship, the Lottery of Nariño, and the Superservicios concessionaire. We are joining efforts with all the territorial entities to protect legality in the industry and transfers for health," stated Hincapié.
