The procedure took place in a house at 526 bis and 178 in the town of Melchor Romero following an anonymous complaint.
Argentina.- An anonymous complaint alerted the authorities about the practice of illegal gambling in a house located at the intersection of 526 bis and 178 streets in the town of Melchor Romero, La Plata district. Following this alert, personnel from the Bonaerense Police went to this address and conducted an operation that resulted in ten people arrested.
The authorities observed several people playing volleyball while a smaller group participated in dice games. Alcoholic beverages were also found being sold without the proper permits.
During the raid, the officers apprehended nine men and one woman, aged between 27 and 52. In addition, they seized cash - in national and foreign currency -, a volleyball net, three dice, bottles of wine and beers, also cans.
Also, a Toyota Hilux with a removed chassis number, a blue cloth to cover the gaming table, and other gaming items, such as a homemade stick used for collecting dice, were confiscated.
The intervening magistrate ordered the necessary directives to proceed with the arrests and the seizure of the objects. Among the money found, there was G. 2,396,000 (USD 304), USD 24 and AR$ 43,220 (USD 44).

The sources detailed that the detainees are of Paraguayan and Argentine nationality and perform various jobs, from merchants to bricklayers and painters. They were transferred to the Third Police Station of La Plata and notified of the case against them.
In October of last year another center for clandestine games was discovered in Melchor Romero. In that case, it operated in a closed court of piki volley. When the Police raided the place, there were more than 40 people, including two minors.
The procedure ended with three detainees. In addition, more than one and a half million pesos, dollars, and euros, and a revolver were seized at the site.
