Seize 1,221 slot machines in the Mexican state of Michoacán

In the Morelia region, 577 illegal slot machines have been seized.

Mexico.- In five regions of the state of Michoacán, 1,221 illegal slot machines were seized between September 2023 and May 2024. This was reported by the head of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), José Alfredo Ortega Reyes, through a statement. 

The official detailed in the operations report that in the Morelia region, 577 devices were seized; in Zamora, 174; while 163 in Apatzingán, 168 in Lázaro Cárdenas, and 139 in Pátzcuaro.

According to Ortega Reyes, the seizures were carried out in five regions of the state, where the machines "were located in places allegedly related to the commission of illicit acts."

“This operation has also been in support of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), and has involved the participation of the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), tasks that resulted in the seizure of the 1221 slot machines in places allegedly related to the commission of illicit acts,” the statement said.

Just in April this year, in the port city of Lázaro Cárdenas, 168 slot machines were seized in the downtown area, located in several buildings.
