Meta announced on September 2 that its anti-scam operations in the Asia-Pacific region continue to escalate, achieving significant results in collaboration with the Singapore Police Force. Since the end of 2024, the two parties have made breakthroughs in sharing intelligence on suspicious scam websites.
As of July 2025, Meta has helped take down over 17,000 scam sites and removed approximately 157 million non-compliant advertisements from its platforms, with about 90% being automatically identified and cleaned up by the system before user reports. Additionally, Meta has taken measures such as banning around 12 million scam-related accounts.
The report indicates that scam information is particularly active on social platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Data released by the Singapore Police for the first half of 2025 shows that Meta's platforms remain a major focus for monitoring online scams and cybercrime.
Meta collaborates with Singapore police to intensify anti-fraud efforts.
