In the Palingon area of Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines, a plastic barrel containing a blood-stained corpse was discovered by a stream, suspected to be a recent homicide. A local couple stumbled upon the barrel while farming early in the morning. Ronilo Machina, the husband, said, "Out of curiosity, I looked inside and was shocked to see a body." His wife, Josephine Brengila, added that the body's clothing was soaked with a lot of fresh blood and the smell was not strong, suggesting that the victim was killed recently.
This was the second time the couple had found a body nearby. Machina noted that the area lacks surveillance coverage, making it a blind spot for security. The police were quickly notified and arrived at the scene, preliminarily determining it to be a newly occurred murder case and began an investigation.
Not long ago, two severed hands were also found on the streets of Taguig City, drawing significant public attention. Whether the two cases are related has not yet been confirmed, and the police are thoroughly investigating.
Local residents, alarmed and uneasy about the recurring violent incidents, are calling on the government to enhance security management and surveillance in the area to prevent similar tragedies from happening again.
