How come everywhere I go there's a crackdown? Am I being targeted?

The year I left Dubai coincided with a major crackdown, and within less than a year of moving to the Philippines, I encountered another purge; last year I switched to Cambodia, hoping to keep a low profile, but in less than six months, the net began to tighten again...

Now, the only places left I haven't tried are Myanmar and Thailand. I really dare not touch Myanmar, and I plan to see if Thailand might work next, but I also don't know if it's almost "their turn".

It feels like I'm not choosing places, but rather chasing storms... Really fed up with this luck.
