On the afternoon of July 16th, the Phnom Penh police in Cambodia, in collaboration with multiple departments, launched a new round of operations against online fraud, targeting several key areas in the city and raiding multiple suspected fraud dens.
According to reports from the scene, the operation controlled 99 suspects, including:
24 individuals from Mainland China
75 individuals from Taiwan, China
and 1 individual from Vietnam
At the scene, a large number of tools used for committing crimes and related evidence were also seized, including:
469 mobile phones
122 desktop computers
5 laptops
34 passports
Several unactivated SIM cards
2 vehicles
It is reported that all suspects have been transferred to the Phnom Penh city police station for further investigation and processing. This raid is another key operation in the nationwide campaign against cybercrime initiated by the Cambodian authorities this month.
Brief comment: The high-pressure situation continues to intensify
The arrested individuals are mainly from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, indicating that the organizational scale of Chinese cyber fraud groups in Cambodia is still considerable. As the eradication operations continue to advance, a closed-loop rhythm of "people, objects, chain" is forming, with the pace from "investigation" to "control" to "clearance" noticeably accelerating.

Phnom Penh launches a heavy crackdown, nearly a hundred suspects involved in telecom fraud are arrested!
