The kidnapping and murder case of Anson Que, a prominent Chinese-Filipino steel magnate in the Philippines (commonly known as Anson Que, legally named Anson Tan), continues to draw attention. Recently, his family, through former congressman and now family lawyer Jose Christopher "Kit" Belmonte, issued a formal statement firmly denying any connection between the deceased and the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

Belmonte stated that Anson Que had never been involved in any transactions related to POGO during his lifetime, nor did he own any rental properties in Bulacan Province. "The allegations are baseless and highly misleading," he emphasized. He highlighted that the deceased had long been engaged in legitimate business operations, was a well-known entrepreneur in the Filipino-Chinese business community, and was widely known for his philanthropy. "He only did business with trusted individuals and always stayed away from any suspicious transactions."

Furthermore, Belmonte specifically pointed out that Anson Que was his common name, while his legal name was Anson Tan, urging the public to avoid misunderstandings and sensationalism.

The family also called on the public to view online rumors rationally, thanked all sectors of society for their support and concern, and expressed their intention to continue cooperating fully with the police investigation. They also requested the media to provide the family with sufficient space for mourning and privacy.
