I previously lost my passport and then obtained a travel document, planning to return to my country through emergency channels. However, I got stuck at the immigration office because the intermediary couldn't find the record of my previous work visa application, so the process couldn't continue.
But I definitely had a work visa and worked normally before, otherwise, how could I have joined the company smoothly? Now, the immigration office says they "can't find the record," and just like that, I'm blocked here, which seems unreasonable. Isn't it a system or process issue if the record is missing? Why should I bear the consequences personally?
I have been stranded in the Philippines for over half a year, which means no work and no income for over six months. My savings are long gone, and now I'm even in debt, struggling even for basic living. Honestly, I can hardly hold on any longer.
So, I want to ask my friends, have any of you experienced something similar? How did you get stranded, and how did you manage to return? Is there any way to deal with this situation?
I really hope to gather a wide range of ideas, as any advice is very precious to me right now. I would be immensely grateful.
