On February 28th, Thai Foreign Minister Mari hosted a trilateral ministerial meeting between Thailand, China, and Myanmar at The Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok, focusing on coordinating efforts to combat telecommunications fraud. The Myanmar delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of the Interior, while the Chinese team was headed by Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of Public Security. Representatives from Thailand's National Security Council, the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Finance also attended the meeting.
The meeting reaffirmed that the three countries will strengthen cooperation, resolutely combat telecommunications fraud, and effectively protect the lives and property of the people in the region, implementing the policy consensus of the leaders of the three countries. To this end, the parties will enhance cross-border law enforcement cooperation and information sharing to improve the systematic and efficiency of crime fighting.
The meeting emphasized that it will rely on the Thai-Chinese-Myanmar coordination mechanism to deepen cooperation, comprehensively combat and arrest criminals, while promoting systematic solutions and collaborating with other neighboring countries to eradicate transnational criminal organizations.
