Important Reminder for Comrades Returning to the Country

Nowadays, people returning to the country are basically being arrested. I have legally traveled abroad for two months in total, but each time I return to the country, I get arrested, even those who have been previously released after serving their sentences are arrested again. I was arrested by the Haidian Sub-bureau in Beijing. The police initially charge you with a fraud case, but in reality, this case has nothing to do with you. After I was detained, I denied everything. For shorter periods, one could claim to have been traveling, and for longer periods, one could claim to have been working abroad. In any case, one must fabricate their story and absolutely not admit to any criminal activity.

In the cell, I met someone who was deceived by the police and ended up confessing. I was released after 30 days, but he, having confessed to some things, was sent to the prosecutor's office and was almost certain to be sentenced. Our situations were similar, but I did not confess to any crimes. It's crucial never to admit being in the "park," just say you were renting a place outside. During the interrogation, the police will try to lead you to admit that the "park" refers to the electric switch park, but you should not mention the word "park" in your testimony. Instead, refer to it as a casino hotel or hotel apartment, and avoid mentioning "park" because the police have no evidence.

It's essential to thoroughly clean your mobile phone's chat history, or better yet, switch to a new phone. Do not use a real-name registered WeChat, as the police can indeed recover data, especially from Android phones. A person from Zhejiang who was detained with me returned to the country in 2021 and was later sentenced to five months for smuggling out of the country, only to be arrested again before the year's end.

Later, the police I dealt with were local officers. They would first call you, claiming you were involved in a fraud case. Their tactic is to deceive you initially, making you lower your guard by saying "it's nothing" or even pretending nothing happened, and they might even say they'll contact you when they're free. Never believe this; once you receive such a call, it's almost certain they're about to handcuff you.

At this point, the best strategy is to quickly contact your local connections, pretend to be a victim as if you've been deceived, similar to turning yourself in. Make arrangements with your connections in advance, as you'll likely be taken to be detained out of town. The first thing to do is to have a lawyer deliver money; the lawyer's main role is to relay messages, not to defend you, as that would be a waste of money. Regardless, you're almost certain to be detained for 30 or 37 days. During my time in detention, I met at least a dozen people who were only released after completing 30 days.

The main purpose of contacting local connections is to figure out where you've been taken and which agency is handling your case, so that once you're in detention, your family can deposit money for you. Many detention centers have changed their rules for depositing money; now, only relatives listed in the household registration book can deposit money. If you're the only person on your household registration, you might not even be able to deposit money.

They are just guessing; unless it's a major case, there won't be any trouble.
