Gibraltar has officially become the first European jurisdiction to directly license predictive market activities.
This year, Gibraltar's Minister for Justice, Trade, and Industry, Nigel Feetham, has repeatedly emphasized the potential for growth in predictive markets. On June 10, the American company Wire Industries Inc announced that its predictive market subsidiary, Wire Markets Ltd, had received approval in principle from the Gibraltar regulatory authorities.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, WagerWire has been focusing on market-oriented innovative products since its establishment in 2023, having pioneered the online sports betting secondary market. The company now plans to establish a regulated predictive market entity in Gibraltar as a springboard for global expansion.
According to plans, WagerWire's predictive market products are expected to officially launch in the second half of 2026, coinciding with the NFL season and international football leagues.
